‘FUN OLYMPICS’ FOR SENIORS MAKING THE MOST OF LIFE
Housing & Aged Care Minister Bronwyn Pike will TOMORROW open the annual Making the Most of Life event for seniors - a post-Olympics celebration of International Day of Older People.
Making the Most of Life highlights healthier lifestyles and social activities for older Victorians.
Ms Pike will welcome Melbourne 1956 Olympians to the Bracks Government-funded festivities.
A range of action will include a ‘Fun Olympics’ of rock-climbing, abseiling, balancing and more conventional sports such as archery, rowing, volleyball, table tennis, golf and bowls.
Along with activities such as yoga, tai chi and aromatherapy, the young-at-heart can hop on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle for a pulse-revving ride.
The Bracks Government is committed to making Victoria the place to be for positive ageing, where older people’s voices are heard and where they continue to help shape their community.
